These Terms of Business apply to all survey and consultancy work carried out by Murphy Marine Surveys Ltd (Company No. 17339558, registered in England and Wales). By commissioning a survey, you agree to these terms.
Fees are as set out on our published pricing, or as separately quoted for damage inspections and coding surveys. Payment is due on delivery of the survey report unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable cancellation fee (covering travel and preparation time already committed) for cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice.
We carry Professional Indemnity Insurance, arranged to cover claims arising from professional negligence in the course of survey work. Our liability is limited to the fee paid for the specific survey in question, except where liability cannot be limited by law (for example, in cases of death or personal injury caused by negligence).
Survey reports are treated as confidential and are not shared with third parties without the client's written permission, except where disclosure is required by law or by a relevant regulatory or professional body.
If you're unhappy with any aspect of a survey or report, please contact us directly at info@murphymarinesurveys.co.uk in the first instance. [Once YDSA accreditation is confirmed: complaints may also be referred to YDSA under their code of practice and complaints procedure.]
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
